You're My Cup Of Tea
A little girl is bullied throughout school for being the ugly duckling, until the year of 1957 where she is crowned Miss Sunshine of WA.
A young woman sits on her typewriter at The West Australian. The year is 1984 and she dreams of Europe.
Throw in a couple of hairdressing salons, a high-tea business, library loans, tales of lost love, some missing white blood cells and a few too many bottles of Houghton’s wine; welcome to the woman of my family.
This intimate new play based around sharing a cup of Dilmah Extra-strength tea (because my mother will have nothing else) looks at the bond of women in families and celebrating the everyday hero.
Collaborating with Bridget LeMay, Kelly Hollyoak and Janet Taylor.
A new work that aims to share stories, successes and strength.
